TCAF is this weekend and Koyama Press is excited to be there with a slew of cartoonists and new releases!

Michael DeForge is set to debut his collection of short stories pulled from the pages of rare and out-of-print mini comics, online comics and anthologies Very Casual. We will also have a limited quantity of DeForge’s Lose #5, which officially debuts in June and is another excellent entry in his one-man anthology series. The previous issue, Lose #4, is nominated for the 2013 Doug Wright Award for Best Book.

Julie Delporte will be debuting the English translation of her brilliantly illustrated diary comics, Journal, and Victor Kerlow will be debuting his hilarious and absurd collection of comics Everything Takes Forever.

The mirthful mind behind last year’s Eat More Bikes, Nathan Bulmer, and the inimitable cartoonist Jane Mai, whose book Sunday in the Park with Boys won a 2013 MoCCA Award for Excellence will also be in attendance. Be sure not to miss superstar Superslackers creator Steve Manale who will be nearby sketching caricatures.

Along with these cartoonists and books, we will have a large collection of backlist titles and unique pieces such as Allister Lee’s kaleidoscopic prints Black is Beautiful. We will also be selling issue #73 of John Porcellino’s ground-breaking autobio zine, King-Cat, as well as Tim Hensley’s Ticket Stub and the anthology of compulsive doodles Lollygag both from the excellent micro-publisher Yam Books.

TCAF is known for its excellent programming and this year is no exception. Koyama Press is well represented with panels featuring Koyama Press Publisher Annie Koyama, and cartoonists Michael DeForge and Maurice Vellekoop (for complete descriptions of the panels and times please see below).

TCAF 2013 is looking to be a massive celebration of all things comics that we are happy to be a part of, so be sure to drop by tables 131-133 on the first floor!
