Koyama Press is pumped to be returning to beautiful Bethesda, MD for the 21st annual Small Press Expo! It is SPX’s 21st birthday, which means we will finally be able to go dancing with them, and it also means that they are celebrating 21st Century cartoonists. Koyama Press was born in the 21st Century and most of our artists made their names after the year 2000 including special guest Michael DeForge, and Cole Closser both of whom will be on hand slinging and signing their debut books at tables L1-2 (but be warned, Cole will only be there on Saturday, so don’t miss out!).

Michael is set to unleash the newest, full-colour issue of Lose as well as Dressing, a collection of stories in the Very Casual vein. Cole is bringing Black Rat, a melange of stories and styles linked by the title’s titular rodent.

Nathan Jurevicius won’t be at SPX, but his new kaleidoscopic kids book Junction will be there in all its Technicolor glory accompanied by a just as vibrant collection of temporary tattoos and a free-with-purchase activity book!

Koyama Pressers Dustin Harbin and John Martz will also be at SPX tending to their own tables (L14 and L13B respectively). We’ll have plenty of Diary Comics and A Cat Named Tim and Other Stories and John will be debuting a super special mini published by us and printed in a fantastic fluorescent pink; you will just have to swing by his table to believe it!

It’s the 21st century, it’s SPX’s 21st, and it’s good comics. Be there!
