The Infinite Wait and Other Stories by Julia Wertz (9780987963024 | September 2012 | $15.00 | Trade Paper) and By This Shall You Know Him by Jesse Jacobs (9780986873980 | May 2012 | $15.00 | Trade Paper) have been nominated for The Slate Book Review and the Center for Cartoon Studies Cartoonist Studio Prizes. This is the first year for the price, and the winner in each of our two categories will be announced on March 1; each winner will receive $1,000. The shortlists were selected by Slate Book Review editor Dan Kois, the faculty and students at the Center for Cartoon Studies, and this year’s guest judge, legendary New Yorker art editor Françoise Mouly.
